Faculty of Science is an implementation unit that organizes academic lectures for the basic and the public subjects. When IT Telkom was founded, this unit was named BPDU (Bureau of Public Basic Course), after 1994 turned into a PPDU (General Basic Program Course). End of 2006, its name changed again to the Department of Science and entered the end of 2007, the Department of Science changed again into Faculty of Science line with changes of STT Telkom became Institute of Technology Telkom (IT Telkom). Originally Faculty of Science has only one laboratory, namely the physics laboratory. Other laboratory, namely Language Laboratory was established in 1997 and Laboratory of Mathematics and Statistics follow later in 2000.

Being competitive and excellent faculty in the field of science that support Information and Telecommunications Technology.

Mission
Promoting and disseminating science through “Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi” to support the Information and Telecommunications Technology.

Goals
1. Producing quality graduates in science.
2. Producing quality scientific work in science.
3. A useful contribution in the field of science to public service and industry.
4. Giving support and services to other departments in the Institution.

Faculty of Science held two courses, namely:
1. S1 Computational Science Study Program (Bachelor Degree)
2. S1 Physics Study Program (Bachelor Degree)
