STUDENT LIFE

In addition to studying and doing other academic activities, ITTELKOM believes that students’ involvement in non-academic activities and organizations is a contributing factor to a student’s education. The opportunity is provided to extend classroom experiences into relevant programs that develop social skills and provide leadership opportunities. Therefore; Institut Teknologi Bandung encourages all students to be involved in the non-academic activities such as those in the student associations and student activity units. Throughout the year, more than fifty-three different activity units which provide a variety of activities for students are offered.

There are different activity units which provide a variety of activities for students.

educational activity units, namely: The Blood Donor Group, the Student Film League, the Student English Forum, the Student Military Group, the Boy Scouts, the Phi Sigma Mu and others;

art activity units, namely the Student Theatre Group, the Student’s Choir; the Marching Band, the Angklung Group, Music Appreciation LiteraryAppreciation, and Cultural Groups of Students from certain ethnic groups (North Sumatera, Sunda, Minangkabau, Bali, Aceh, South Sulawesi, Java, and East Java); Japanese Study group; and

sports activity units, namely the groups of martial arts or self-defense (the traditional martial art, silat, karate, taekwondo, judo, kempo, kendo) and sports like soccer, bridge, softball, hockey, chess, table tennis, tennis, badminton, basket ball, aerosports, volleyball, athletics, skydiving, fencing, archery, scuba diving, and rugby. The students can choose any activity they like.
