Faculty of Industrial Engineering was established on 28th of September 1990. Industrial engineering is a field of engineering science that concentration on the analysis, design, implementation and improvement of an integral system that consists of people, equipment, funds, materials, and methods. In that context of Industrial Engineering ontology, the Telecommunication Industry is an integral system that desperately needs the presence and contribution of industrial engineering expertise.
Departing from this thinking, IT Telkom in its mission to become a provider of human resources in the Indonesian telecommunications industry considers it important to establish the Faculty of Industrial Engineering as part of a clump of Engineering in IT Telkom, which focus on areas of ICT together with the Faculty of Electrical & Communication and the Faculty of Informatics.
The functions of Industrial Engineering Faculty are organizing educational work, learning, researching, and society service through Diploma and Bachelor Degree Study Programs.

The focus of industrial engineering IT Telkom study is in the field of design, operation, and improvement of information and telecommunications industries systems in which consists of humans, facilities / devices, processes, information, and money to produce the maximum output. Industrial engineering sciences using basic science, basic engineering, operations management, financial management, production engineering, optimization techniques, and other social sciences to evaluate and predict the outcome of the industrial system.
