Postgraduate Faculty of telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom) held a public lecture again. Lecture followed by IT Telkom postgraduate and bachelor students, Thursday (10/11), in Multimedia Room Learning Centre, IT Telkom. Public lecture took the topic : Development Opportunities in Research in Quantum Computing and its Implementation Strategy. Agung Trisetyarso, Ph.D. alumnus of Keio University in Japan's acted as a speaker at that time.
"A theory can die if there is another theory better. And if the researcher is not able to prove that theory," said Agung.
Clearly, computer technology has been growing rapidly. From the beginning of its existence until now, the growth of computers 10 times faster every year. Even in 2030, it’s predicted that computer intelligence exceeds the human. This thing impacts on the development of scientific theory.
"The promising theory has to be superset, more universal than that of conventional computer science. Also, they must accept quantum theory because of Moore's law requires that the quantum effects in the count," said Agung.
Quantum Information and Computing (QIC) is an interdisciplinary field involving computer science, physics and chemical sciences and mathematics engineering. QIC is now considered as the next generation of computing. The reason, it has the ability to solve the classic problem of a conventional computer such as Moore's law, the universality of logic gates and paradoxes.
