Both teams from Telkom Institute of Technology (IT Telkom) successfully got “The Merit Winner” and “The Winner” in the international competition: Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) 2011 which took place in Pattaya Thailand. Isara team as the WINNER in the category e-Inclusion and e-community of APICTA 2011, the sparkins team as a MERIT WINNER for Student Project category Teritary of APICTA 2011.
At first, the juries of INAICTA 2011 believed the Isara application was really great application. ISARA is a sign language dictionary Natural User Interface based. These applications are intended for deaf and mute and for those who want to learn sign language. ISARA use Kinect as a sensor activator. Besides that, Sparkins team initially as a winner in the category of Higher Education Applications in INAICTA 2011. SPARKINS application is touch screen-based applications for learning Perkins typewriter for blind persons. SPARKINS use Chording Perkins Braille system.
The series of APICTA 2011 activities took place in Dusith Tani Hotel Pataya Thailand, Tuesday-Friday (8-11/11). That's where IT Telkom teams displayed their work in front of the juries, to compete with delegates from other Asian countries.

Once again, one of IT Telkom students earned outstanding award in national level. His name is Ahmad Agung Ahkam, an Informatics student from the class of 2007. He won achieved a gold medal in the National Mathematics and Science Olympic for University Students (ON MIPA-PT).
